- Above I have posted the trailer for All the boys love Mandy Lane, the trailer opens with a girl walking down the corridor at school, we assume this is the main character, whilst she walks down the corridor boys are looking at her. This is there to show the audience that the main charachter is an object of lust or love from the male population.
- Mandy does not seem to like recieving attention from the boys are there are numerous shots of her turning them down or appearing aggravated by the attention.
- There is a shot of the car driving away from their hometown insinuating that the teens are going on a roadtrip or somewhere in the middle nowhere as we see a shot of the sign 'last gas for 150 miles'. The sign is there to let the audience know that the horror element of the film will start from then on due to the far away destination, the sign also implies that no other people will be near where they are going which is a very common element in the horror genre.
- All the teens are laughing and having a good time, this is a sure sign of everything going quickly wrong. Mandy appears quiet and a little shy making the audience question if she is infact the victim or the killer.
- There are numerous shots of the land around their house showing a stretch for miles and no other houses in view, letting the audience see that the group are alone. There are also close-up shots of knives and the terror on the girls faces, this relates to the genre of the film
- The trailer ends with the girls running away from a certain hooded person with a knife, we are to assume this is the killer.
- The unique selling point (usp) of the film would be the attractive females and males in the film which would appeal to a wide audience. The young element of the film , with shots of road trips and drinking games will appeal to teens aswell. The film may not appeal to a older audience due to the age of the cast all looking under 20 years old.
- Credits are used throughout the trailer with lines such as, 'somebody wants her alone', 'all the boys want mandy lane.' 'Somebody will do anything' is on its own with a red background, implying the 'anything' would be death or injury.
